Here are some shocking
facts about cancer.
The incidence of cancer has been growing
since the mid 1800s, when the industrial revolution began
poisoning us. One person in four in Britain is expected
to die of cancer. A century ago, it was one in 20. It's
expected to be one in two by mid-century.
Many antiperspirants
contain aluminium. Aluminium has been found in breast
cancer tumours and the brains of Alzheimer's victims.
Should you be applying it to your skin, especially near
the breast? Men are now beginning to suffer from breast
cancer. Is it coincidence that they have started using
antiperspirants? There is a safe alternative.
According to Fragile
Science by Robin Baker, in 1935 the chances of a
Briton contracting malignant melanona, the deadliest form
of skin cancer, were one in 1,500. In 2000 it was one in
75. What happened in the intervening 65 years? We started
using more and more sun screen lotions. We cover our skin,
which is now known to be a sponge rather than a barrier,
with chemicals such as psoralen and padimate-O. A
European study found that fair-skinned people were four
times more likely to develop malignant melanomas after
using psoralen-based screens than others. Padimate-O is
believed to generate free radicals which damage the skin
and underlying fat tissues.
Talc is closely related to
the potent carcinogen asbestos. Talc particles have been
shown to cause tumors in the ovaries and lungs of cancer
victims ("Toxicology and carcinogenesis studies of
talc in rats and mice (Inhalation studies)."
Technical Report Series N0 421. September 1993). It is
easily absorbed through the vagina and lungs, and is
believed to be the main cause of ovarian cancer, and
maybe of most breathing difficulties in children because
of overuse by mothers. Avoid it, and use Purisorb or a
safe barrier cream on your babies instead.
Donald Factor, the son of
Max, suffered lung cancer in 1986 that spread to his
liver and doctors could not help and pronounced him
terminal. He was taken to an alternative clinic in a coma
and given nutritional therapy. Within a year he was
cancer free and remains so.
Many researchers such as
Phillip Day, author of Cancer: Why We're Still Dying
to Know the Truth, say that cancer treatment is all
wrong. Doctors treat the tumour, not the disease. He
argues that a tumour is simply a symptom. If you get
cancer and you are a smoker, you get a lung or throat
tumour; if you have stomache damage such as an ulcer you
get a stomache tumour, or with damaged skin you get skin
cancer etc. Cutting out the tumour doesn't work if you
don't cure the cancer: it just spreads somewhere else. He
says cancer is a dietary deficiency, just as scurvy or
pellagra are now known to be. These diseases also had no
known cure for years.
Much cancer and other
illness, even ageing, is believed to be caused by free
radicals. These are particles, caused by chemical
reactions, which seek out electrons and can strip them
from other molecules. They cause iron to rust and cut
apples to go brown by oxidation. In the body, they can
damage DNA. Antioxidants can help eliminate them.
Other shocking health
facts.
The American Medical
Association reported in July 2000 that 250,000 Americans
die every year because of medical treatment. Causes
include infection caught in hospitals (80,000),
unneccessary surgery (12,000), and miscellaneous (20,000).
7,000 Americans die from being given the wrong drugs,
while106,000 die from the side effects of being given the
right drugs. Compare this with the fuss that occurred
when only 8,500 a year were dying in the Vietnam war.
Statistics in America show
that the main cause of death is heart disease. The second
is cancer (and gaining). And the third is medical
treatment. Did you know the average life expectancy of an
American GP is 58 years, less than most other
professionals?
The cleaning industry uses two main
lathering ingredients - sodium laurel sulphate and sodium
laureth sulphate. They are in nearly all bathroom
products. Sodium Laurel Sulphate is known to cause eye
injuries and dermatitis. In America products containing
sodium laurel sulphate need to carry a health warning,
but not in Britain. Sodium laureth sulphate is safer on
its own but reacts with many other ingredients to form
dioxins, highly toxic substances. The industry accepts
these products are dangerous, but argue that they are
safe in small quantities; but if you warm your skin to
open the pores, then rub in shampoo, shower gel, bubble
bath, and toothpaste, what effect will this have over a
lifetime? There is a safe alternative.
What the papers say (other
headlines and stories I have seen): How do you stay healthy? Two ways - take the
right nutrition and avoid the poisons.
